| BOOKS ARE BUILDING BLOCKS Next Program May 1, 2012 This month’s program is featuring animals. Our special guest is Ann Goody of the Three Ring Ranch Animal Sanctuary along with some of her animals. Our reading selections and gift books have been especially chosen to be about animals. A Free Read-Aloud at the Library Literacy Program for Families Presented by Friends of the Libraries, Kona When: First Tuesday of every month during the school year, 4:30pm - 6:30pm Where: Kailua Kona Public Library Children ages 5-18 are invited with their parents (Parents must participate with their children, no exceptions!) This free monthly program is to encourage family literacy. There will be separate reading groups: Preschool, Kindergarten, grades 1 to 2, 3 to 4, 5 to 6, 7 +, and their parents. Each group will have a person reading aloud to them, followed by a discussion of what was read. Afterward, the families will meet on the lanai for free refreshments, prizes, and books. Program is limited to the first 75 participants!
