| BOOKS ARE BUILDING BLOCKS A Free Read-Aloud at the Library Program for Families Presented by Friends of the Libraries, Kona When: First Tuesday of every month, 4:30pm - 6:45pm Where: Kailua Kona Public Library Children ages 5-18 are invited with their parents (Parents must participate with their children, no exceptions!) This free monthly program is to encourage family literacy. We will have five separate reading groups: ages 5-7, ages 8-10, ages 11-13, ages 14-18, and their parent(s). Each group will have a person reading aloud to them, followed by a discussion of what was read. Afterward, the families will meet on the lanai for free refreshments, prizes, and a books. Program is limited to the first 75 participants! Schedule 4:30pm – 5:15pm: Registration in lobby of library 5:15pm – 6:15pm: Families separated into groups with a reader 6:15pm – 6:45pm: Refreshments, prizes, and book swap on lanai (Must have hand stamped to enter) Next program dates: November 3, December 1, January 5, February 2, March 2, April 6, May 4, August 3, September 7 (Note: There will be no program in June or July due to the library’s Summer Reading Program.)
